The Nebraska Dakotas Chapter of ASLA invites session proposals for the 2027 Central States Conference in Omaha, Nebraska! As our flagship regional gathering, this event brings together landscape architecture professionals, educators, students, and allied design partners from across the Great Plains, Midwest, and Northern Plains for three days of education, inspiration, and connection.

We welcome presentation proposals from all background perspective—including ASLA members and non-members, practitioners, academics, students, and community leaders.

  • 60-Minute Educational Session

    • Structure: 45-minute presentation | 15-minute Q&A

    • Focus: Standard presentation format tailored toward landscape architects, planners, and design professionals.

    90-Minute Interactive Session / Panel

    • Structure: Flexible presentation, panel, or workshop

    • Focus: Expanded timeframe designed for deeper engagement, multi-speaker panels, or hands-on activities.

    Field Trip / Mobile Workshop (60–90 Minutes)

    • Structure: Guided walking tour or site visit

    • Focus: Outdoor, site-based sessions walking attendees through nearby built projects, ecological interventions, or urban design developments in Omaha. Proposals must outline a walkable route from the venue.

  • Elevate Your Work: Present your projects, research, and insights to an engaged regional audience of designers, planners, and municipal decision-makers.

    Provide Continuing Education: Offer LA/CES–approved credits to help peers fulfill mandatory licensure requirements. (Review LA CES Provider Guidelines for session eligibility).

    Shape the Industry Dialogue: Drive critical conversations around adaptive design, civic space, climate resilience, and community impact.

    Gain Speaker Recognition: Accepted presenters receive featured exposure across the conference website, event app, and regional marketing channels.

    Speaker Notifications: Week of February 15, 2027

    Final Slide Decks Due: Wednesday, April 7, 2027
